As the story goes Shakespeare was said to have tried to out drink the villagers in Bidford on Avon but instead fell asleep under a tree. When morning came his friends asked him to tell of his night and he replied "I have drunk with "Piping Pebworth, Dancing Marston, Haunted Hillboro, Hungry Grafton, Dodging Exhall, Papist Wixford, Beggarly Broom and Drunken Bidford and so
