In silvered bronze, measuring 39. 5 mm (w) x 55. 8 mm (h) inclusive of its wreath suspension, original ribbon, extremely fine. Footnote: The medal was created on January 6, 1953 to be awarded for assistance in creating and training units of the Vietnamese armed forces. It was awarded initially to French, later American, military.
