This study, published in English in the series Hieroglyphic Paleography, offers a segment of hieroglyphic writing for a particular period: the disturbed period from the end of the Old Kingdom to the end of the First Intermediate Period. Unlike the other volumes in the series, the hieroglyphs from the Akhmim Cemetery at El Hawawish come from a variety of sources: tomb reliefs and paintings, stelae, wooden
