Of local Turkish manufacture in cast metal with red patination, ball finials on the tips of the star points, Turkish made, measuring 55. 5 mm (w) x 53. 2 mm (h), horizontal pinback, scattered wear in the red patination and the silvering, better than very fine. Footnote: The Gallipolli Star was a military decoration awarded by the Ottoman Empire. It is also known as the Ottoman War Medal. It was instituted by Sultan
