A striking Heer trench art patriotic plaque, constructed of multiple panels of dark stained wood, the obverse bearing a hand carved relief of a Heer soldier wearing a Stahlhelm and greatcoat, executed in exceptional detail, surrounded by hand carved inscriptions of SCHLICT U. EINFACT SPT U. FRH (PLAIN AND SIMPLE, LATE AND EARLY), UNVERZAGT IM STRMEN (UNDAUNTED IN THE ASSAULT), "ANSPRUCHLOSE (SIC) INFANTERIE"
