Arnemuiden Landschap zoals stranden en parkenHans Herrmanns (1858 1942) belonged to the group of German landscape painters, mostly pupils of the marine painter EG Dcker (1841 1916) at the Dsseldorfer Akademie, who after 1885 regularly travelled to the Dutch coast to paint the fishing life in Katwijk and Scheveningen. Herrmann first came to Katwijk in 1890, following in the footsteps of German Grobe (1857 1938) who made his first visit to this picturesque fishing village in 1887. Characteristic
