This hybrid of Penstemon 'Husker Red' and Penstemon 'Prairie Splendor' resulted in a plant that resembles Penstemon 'Husker Red' except for being much more sturdy and having dark purple foliage so thick it appears tetraploid. From May through June, the 2' tall flower
