1945 Print Cottonseed Oil Seeds Barrel Human Hair Machinery Workers Cattle FZ7 XGYB6 34 x 29 cmThis is an original 1945 color print of workers at a cottonseed oil factory. Layers of hulled cotton seeds are spread over mats of human hair and heated in trays and subjected to pressure. The oil is squeezed and cooked out of the seed and the oil flows through the hair mats and into troughs. It is collected as crude oil and sold for use in oleomargarine, shortening and in soaps. Shown on the right hand side are men pulling out yellow cakes of the
