Early 20th Century Cast Iron Scholl's Arch Fitter Machine rotary MM - C-11085 - 092524c. 1900s 1910s; Scholl Manufacturing Company, Inc. Chicago Antique shoe arch fitter. This rare piece was used to stretch leather and other textiles to fit the form of a consumer's foot arch. It was designed by Dr. William M. Scholl (yes, that Dr. Scholl), who was a Chicago based podiatrist at the time of starting his company. The actual machine is typically found without the attached stem and base as seen here, making it a unique find. Exhibits minor
